Basketball Recap: Lincoln's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Lincoln was feeling good fresh off their 68-29 takedown of James Lick last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lincoln Lions took a 67-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saratoga Falcons on Tuesday. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Despite the loss, Lincoln still got an impressive performance from Joseph Shelton, who posted 30 points and five assists. That was a full 50% of Lincoln's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emran Ali, who earned seven points.

Lincoln's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-5. As for Saratoga, they pushed their record up to 4-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Lincoln will welcome El Primero at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. Lincoln is facing El Primero at the right time seeing as El Primero is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Saratoga, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 70-67 victory against Homestead on the 4th.
