Basketball Recap: Western New York Maritime Charter Comes Up Short

Western New York Maritime Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 59-49 to the Math Science Tech Prep at Seneca Wolves. The Commodores were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wolves from their previous meeting back in February.

Despite the loss, Western New York Maritime Charter still got an impressive performance from Luis Torres, who posted 16 points. That's the most points Torres has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Abraham Alzaidi, who earned 11 points.

Western New York Maritime Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western New York Maritime Charter will take on Northstar Christian Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Math Science Tech Prep at Seneca, they and Burgard will meet in a canine-themed contest at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
