Soccer Recap: Shasta Wins Going Away Against Yreka

Shasta won the last time they faced Yreka and things went their way on Friday too. The Shasta Wolves blew past the Yreka Miners 7-1. With Wolves ahead 3-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Their offense was hitting Yreka from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Max Sanchez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Shasta has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those five games. As for Yreka, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shasta will head out to face off against Pleasant Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Yreka, they will venture away from home to challenge Lassen at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Yreka is facing Lassen at the right time seeing as Lassen is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
