Basketball Recap: Mater Brickell Academy Comes Up Short

Mater Brickell Academy lost against Varela back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bulls fell 74-63 to the Vipers.

Despite the loss, Mater Brickell Academy still got an impressive performance from Antonio Medina IV, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Medina IV has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Elijah Avila was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Mater Brickell Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season. As for Varela, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.
