Baseball Game Preview: Northwest Christian Crusaders vs. Sabino Sabercats

The Northwest Christian Crusaders will venture away from home to challenge the Sabino Sabercats at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwest Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Sabino will be coming in after a defeat.

Northwest Christian was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Scottsdale Christian Academy 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Crusaders have posted against the Eagles since May 16, 2015.

Meanwhile, Sabino was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 15-4 to Casa Grande.

Sabino saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Campbell, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Sabino's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Northwest Christian, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.

Northwest Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Sabino in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northwest Christian since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
