Softball Recap: Beloit Memorial Has No Trouble Against Edgerton

Beloit Memorial had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Edgerton Crimson Tide on Saturday as they made off with an 18-8 victory. The Purple Knights not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since May 6, 2024.

Abigail Middleton and Jasmine Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Middleton went 3-for-4 with five RBI, three doubles, and one run, while Smith scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those five RBI gave Middleton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Gustafson, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Beloit Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Beloit Memorial's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Edgerton, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Beloit Memorial and Edgerton will both be playing Monona Grove the next time they take the field. The Crimson Tide will host the Silver Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Purple Knights will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
