Softball Recap: Dothan Has No Trouble Against Headland

Dothan got themselves on the board against Headland on Friday, but Headland never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Headland Rams as they made off with a 6-0 win. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Brantlee McCarthy made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, Dothan got a massive performance out of Ashlynn Sasser, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Savanna Kendrick, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Dothan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .565. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dothan's win bumped their record up to 3-6-1. As for Headland, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

Coming up, Dothan will face off against Auburn at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Headland, they will take on Cottonwood at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
