Baseball Recap: Westminster Catawba Christian Comes Up Short

Westminster Catawba Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the SouthLake Christian Academy Eagles, falling 10-3. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

Braden Campolo put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, Brooks Minarik made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Westminster Catawba Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for SouthLake Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-5.

Coincidentally, Westminster Catawba Christian and SouthLake Christian Academy will both be playing Gaston Day the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Indians will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
