Basketball Game Preview: Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes vs. Kennedy Crusaders

The Marian Central Catholic Hurricanes and the Kennedy Crusaders will face off at 10:30 a.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Marian Central Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Kennedy likes a good challenge.

Marian Central Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 87-79 to Woodstock on Thursday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (60), the Hurricanes still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Kennedy took a blow against St. Edward on Thursday, falling 73-39. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marian Central Catholic will have to contain Ja'Veon Sargent-Williams as he made an impact in Kennedy's last game. He posted 17 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Sargent-Williams a new career-high in blocks (two). Julian Cuevas was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds.

Marian Central Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
