Softball Recap: West Oso Comes Up Short

West Oso was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Port Aransas Marlins. If the Bears were looking for revenge after losing 16-0 to them when the teams met back in February of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Giovanni De Los Santos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabella Martinez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

West Oso's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Port Aransas, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, West Oso will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Benavides at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Port Aransas, they will take on San Diego in a tournament on Thursday.
