Baseball Recap: Ellwood City Wolverine vs. Riverside Panthers
Ellwood City lost against Riverside last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Ellwood City Wolverine wound up on the wrong side of a tough 12-2 walloping at the hands of the Riverside Panthers. Ellwood City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ellwood City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Roth, who went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and two RBI.
On Riverside's side, Zach Hare was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Hare was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with an RBI.
