Woodcreek had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Monday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over the Bella Vista Broncos. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 1-0 back in March.

Maryn Macneil was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Macneil was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Macneil wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Preuss, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double. That's the most hits Preuss has posted since back in March.

Woodcreek's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Bella Vista, they now have a losing record of 11-12.

Woodcreek and Bella Vista should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Timberwolves (ranked 51st) will meet Ponderosa (ranked 204th) at 4:00 p.m. on May 6. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Woodcreek 2.5, the Bruins 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Bella Vista will challenge Rio Americano at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (345 vs. 806).
