Basketball Game Preview: Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks vs. Monroe Bearcats

The Marysville-Pilchuck Tomahawks will head out to take on the Monroe Bearcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Marysville-Pilchuck has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Monroe will arrive with five straight wins.

Last Friday, Marysville-Pilchuck had to suffer through a 78-38 loss at the hands of Marysville Getchell. While losing is never fun, the Tomahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while Marysville Getchell are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, Monroe beat Stanwood 53-45 on Friday.

Marysville-Pilchuck's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Monroe, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Marysville-Pilchuck ended up a good deal behind Monroe in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, losing 65-48. Can Marysville-Pilchuck avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
