Volleyball Recap: Catawba Ridge Copperheads vs. Rock Hill Bearcats
Catawba Ridge suffered their biggest loss since October 31, 2023 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Rock Hill Bearcats. The shutout was out of character for the Copperheads seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.
While Catawba Ridge had to take the loss, they sure made a game of it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20, 25-23.
Rock Hill's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Meiya Grobusky led the charge by getting 17 digs. Another player making a difference was Emily Graham, who had ten digs and two aces.
Catawba Ridge's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-6. As for Rock Hill, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
Catawba Ridge will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Clover at 6:30 p.m. Clover will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Catawba Ridge surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rock Hill, they will face off against York at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Hill is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
