Softball Preview: Atherton Wolverines vs. Lakeville Falcons        
        
		
            
 Atherton is 0-3 against Lakeville since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Tuesday. The Atherton Wolverines have the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome the Lakeville Falcons at 5:00  p.m. The pair are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
 Back in April, Atherton made easy work of Morrice  and carried off  a  22-5 win. That's two games straight that Atherton has won by  exactly 17  runs.
 Meanwhile, Lakeville put the finishing touches on their 27th blowout victory of the season  on Saturday. They put the hurt on Fenton with a sharp  13-6 victory. Winning may never get old, but Lakeville sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
  Anabell Newbery was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  tossed 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Newbery has been consistent recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Newbery was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, a  triple,  and  an  RBI.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Larissa Gibson, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs.  Brooke Newbery was another key contributor,  scoring a  run while going 3-for-5.
 Atherton now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lakeville, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 18 of their last 19 matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 33-3-1 record  this season.
