Basketball Recap: Therrell Comes Up Short

Therrell was the 39-37 winner over Lovett when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Therrell Panthers took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lovett Lions. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Therrell lost on Tuesday, don't look at Azil Hazzard. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 33 points and 15 boards. The contest was Hazzard's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Caliea Baisden was another key player, putting up nine points and six steals.

Therrell now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Lovett, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Therrell will venture away from home to challenge Holy Innocents Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lovett, they and Washington will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played.
