Recap: Hopi Bruins vs. Camp Verde Cowboys
The Hopi Bruins were the 35-14 winner over the Camp Verde Cowboys when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Hopi's tough 55-33 defeat to Camp Verde on Wednesday might stick with them for a while. Hopi just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Camp Verde can attribute much of their success to Rachel Roderick, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Page Oothoudt was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Hopi has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Camp Verde, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
Hopi is on the road again on Thursday and play against Ash Fork at 1:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Ash Fork comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Camp Verde will finish 2023 at home by hosting Pinon at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Pinon is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
