Basketball Game Preview: John Bartram Braves vs. Overbrook Panthers

The John Bartram Braves will square off against the Overbrook Panthers at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses apiece dating back to last season.

John Bartram is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Kensington on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. John Bartram took a blow against Kensington, falling 40-11. The matchup marked the Braves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Overbrook had to suffer through a 65-6 loss at the hands of West Philadelphia. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-4.

Overbrook's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for John Bartram, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-5.

John Bartram came out on top in a nail-biter against Overbrook when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for John Bartram since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
