Game recap: Big first quarter quarter leads Bentonville high school football team past Rogers Heritage

A big 28-point first quarter helped carry Bentonville (Ark.) to a 48-7 victory over Rogers Heritage (Rogers, Ark.) on Saturday.

The Tigers scored on a Tearris Wallace touchdown run, a touchdown run by Wallace, a touchdown pass by Reese Dollins to Trey Perkins and a Dollins touchdown pass to Nate Gneiting in the quarter.

Bentonville was up 41-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Wallace in the first quarter.

With the win BHS extended its winning streak to seven games. The Tigers defeated the Mounties 35-6 last week.

Wallace was the top performer for Bentonville. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns.

The War Eagles' lone touchdown came on a 10-yard run in the third quarter.



BHS came into the game allowing 6.0 points per game.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 45-6 win for the Tigers.

In a 7A/6A West game next week Bentonville (7-0) takes on Van Buren, and Rogers Heritage (4-3) will go up against Springdale also in a 7A/6A West game.
