Baseball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Liberty's Winning Streak

After a string of four wins, Liberty's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 8-3 to the Pueblo South Colts. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colts apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2019.

Jacob Rinard was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Pueblo South, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-1 loss against Rock Canyon on the 27th. As for Pueblo South, they will head out on the road to square off against Widefield at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Widefield has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.29 runs per game on average), something Pueblo South will no doubt try to take advantage of.
