Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Coyotes vs. Arcadia Titans

The Centennial Coyotes will head out to face off against the Arcadia Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Centennial has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Centennial lost 13-4 to ALA - Gilbert North on Friday.

Noah Pozar was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Mateo Escontrias, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Arcadia's offense. They came up short against Salpointe Catholic on Wednesday, falling 7-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Titans' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Brock Segui was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk).

Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1. As for Arcadia, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Everything went Centennial's way against Arcadia in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as Centennial made off with a 17-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Coyotes since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
