Basketball Recap: Zaria Spratt's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Utica Academy of Science over Herkimer

Utica Academy of Science played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 64-39 to the Herkimer Magicians. The Atoms were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-16.

Several Atoms players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zaria Spratt, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 boards. Spratt is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jada Morris, who posted eight points and three steals.

Utica Academy of Science's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Herkimer, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Utica Academy of Science will head out to square off against Little Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Herkimer has already played their next matchup (against Canastota), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
