Preview: Calhoun Red Devils vs. Valley Lumberjacks
The Calhoun Red Devils will be playing at home against the Valley Lumberjacks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Calhoun focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
Even though Calhoun has not done well against the Titans recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Calhoun managed a 46-42 victory over the Titans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Calhoun.
Landon Bennett was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Owen Taylor was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Valley suffered a rough 54-34 loss at the hands of the Cougars on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Valley has scored all season.
Calhoun's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Valley, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Calhoun strolled past the Lumberjacks in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 62-47. Does Calhoun have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lumberjacks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
