Oakland-Craig is a perfect 4-0 against Lyons-Decatur Northeast since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Knights will head out to challenge the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Tuesday, Oakland-Craig came up short against Stanton and fell 2-0.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Stanton scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lyons-Decatur Northeast duked it out with Howells-Dodge on Tuesday. The Cougars fell 2-0 to the Jaguars. The Cougars have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-12.

Lyons-Decatur Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Oakland-Craig, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-6.

Everything went Oakland-Craig's way against Lyons-Decatur Northeast in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Oakland-Craig made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
