Preview: Lugoff-Elgin Demons vs. Camden Bulldogs
The Lugoff-Elgin Demons will head out on the road to face off against the Camden Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lugoff-Elgin is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Lugoff-Elgin pushed their score all the way to 55 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a rough 76-55 defeat at the hands of Sumter.
The losing side was boosted by Nigel Chivers, who scored 39 points. Those 39 points set a new season-high mark for he. Another player making a difference was Tyquawn Murphy, who scored five points.
Lugoff-Elgin struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Camden's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Andrew Jackson by a score of 57-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Lugoff-Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Camden, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Lugoff-Elgin didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Camden when the teams last played on Friday, but they still walked away with a 62-58 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lugoff-Elgin since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
