On Saturday, South Laurel faced North Laurel in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The South Laurel Cardinals fell 48-37 to the North Laurel Jaguars. The game marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points over those games. As for North Laurel, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 31-2.

South Laurel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Laurel, they will take on Blazer in a tournament on Wednesday. Blazer knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully North Laurel likes a good challenge.
