Softball Recap: Valley Takes a Loss

The matchup between Valley and Atrisco Heritage Academy on Thursday hardly resembled the 4-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Valley Vikings came up short against the Atrisco Heritage Academy Jaguars, falling 18-1. The Vikings have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liliana Roybal, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Valley's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Atrisco Heritage Academy, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Looking ahead, Valley will venture away from home to challenge Cleveland at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Atrisco Heritage Academy, they will host St. Pius X at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Atrisco Heritage Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully St. Pius X likes a good challenge.
