Baseball Recap: Youngker Victorious

Youngker's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Buckeye Hawks. The win continues a trend for the Roughriders in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won six in a row.

Miguel Valenzuela Delgado tossed a big game, striking out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since March 5th.

At the plate, Jeremiah Garcia was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Youngker: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Isaac Valencia, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

Youngker's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Buckeye, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.
