Football Game Preview: Douglass Red Devils vs. Hamilton Wildcats

The Douglass Red Devils will head out to face off against the Hamilton Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Douglass' offense hasn't had much luck over their past seven games, but Thursday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Douglass is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Melrose on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Red Devils were dealt a 66-0 defeat at the hands of the Golden Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee football rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Golden Wildcats are ranked 119th).

Fans were treated to a battle of the Wildcats on Friday. Hamilton took a blow against Bolton, falling 42-8. The loss continues a trend for Hamilton in their meetings with Bolton: they've now lost four in a row.

Hamilton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Douglass, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Douglass came up short against Hamilton when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 12-8. Can the Red Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
