Harleton hasn't had much luck against Elysian Fields recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wildcats will take on the Yellowjackets at 5:30 p.m. Harleton has given up an average of 8.3 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Harleton is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since February 28th on Friday. They came up short against Beckville, falling 12-2.
Annabelle Green put in work while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Green was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Green wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Skaggs, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Elysian Fields came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Indians a 16-0 shutout.
Like Harleton, Elysian Fields also got a great game from a two-way player: Taylor Youngblood. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Youngblood a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kaylen Commander was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025. Rylee Deal was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.
Elysian Fields always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Elysian Fields now has a winning record of 16-15-1. As for Harleton, their loss dropped their record down to 10-21-1.
Harleton got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Elysian Fields by a conclusive 10-2 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Yellowjackets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
