Basketball Recap: Shipley Takes a Loss

Shipley came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were beaten by the Haverford School Fords 78-49. Shipley lost against Haverford School in their previous head to head back in December of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 76-23 score last time.

Despite the defeat, Shipley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rocky Toussaint-Williams posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Venkat Bayireddi, who had seven points and six boards.

Shipley's loss dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Haverford School, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Shipley and Landon will face off at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Haverford School, they will head out to face off against Pennington at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
