Soccer Recap: Springstead Takes a Loss

After soaring to four goals the game before, Springstead was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. 2025 welcomed they with a 7-0 loss courtesy of the Mitchell Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 102nd).

Springstead has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Mitchell, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4-1.

Springstead didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 5-0 victory against Crystal River on the 8th. As for Mitchell, they will look to defend their home pitch on Saturday against River Ridge at 12:00 p.m. One thing working in River Ridge's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last five matchups.
