Softball Game Preview: North Salem Vikings vs. South Albany Redhawks

The North Salem Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the South Albany Redhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. North Salem is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

North Salem came up short against South Eugene last Friday, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, South Albany suffered their closest loss since April 29, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of West Albany by a score of 9-7. The Redhawks have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Maddie Angel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Tschida, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

North Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for South Albany, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

North Salem suffered a grim 17-5 defeat to South Albany in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
