Basketball Recap: Caldwell Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Caldwell can bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They strolled past the Shadyside Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 55-38. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 73-34 back in December of 2024.

Caldwell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Breighlee Moracco led the charge by putting up six points along with eight steals and seven assists. Moracco is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Lyla Lowe, who posted five points in addition to 13 boards and five steals.

Caldwell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Caldwell's win ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12. As for Shadyside, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-14 record this season.
