Recap: American Heritage Stallions vs. Boynton Beach Tigers
The American Heritage Stallions''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Boynton Beach 27-21. American Heritage lost against Boynton Beach in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 49-14 score last time.
Several Stallions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Kasten, who threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Surtain, who picked up 107 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Boynton Beach's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. The heavy lifting was done by Jamarous Thomas and Tristian Ford who racked up four sacks between them.
American Heritage's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Archbishop McCarthy and 7-3 Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.3% over those games). As for Boynton Beach, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American Heritage will challenge North Broward Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Boynton Beach, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Worth at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
