Baseball Preview: Fleming Island Golden Eagles vs. Beachside Barracudas        
        
		
            
 The Fleming Island Golden Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Beachside Barracudas at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Both teams have allowed few  runs on average, (Fleming Island: 3.5, Beachside: 3.9) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
 Fleming Island scored the most  runs they've had all season to find success  on Friday. They put the hurt on Riverside with a sharp  17-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Fleming Island considering their two-run performance the  match before.
  Keegan Leckband looked comfortable as he  didn't allow a single  hit, only one  earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched.
 On the hitting side,  Tanner LaClair was  excellent,  going 2-for-2 with two  doubles and two  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Tanner Upton, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-1.
 Meanwhile, Beachside was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight  loss. They fell just short of Ponte Vedra by a score of  2-0.
 Beachside also got a good showing from  Riley Hofrichter, who   didn't allow a single  earned run over four innings pitched.
 At the plate, Beachside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Derek Ochoa, who  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with a  stolen base.
 Fleming Island's victory bumped their record up to 12-7. As for Beachside, they now  have a losing record at 9-10.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Tuesday as both teams have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fleming Island has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 6.9  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Beachside struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 9.8. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 Fleming Island was able to grind out a solid  win over Beachside when the teams last played  back in March of 2023, winning  4-1. Does  Fleming Island have another victory up their sleeve, or will Beachside turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
