Softball Recap: Deer Park Has No Trouble Against West Valley

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Deer Park and West Valley meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Stags put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 16-2 victory. The Stags have beaten the Eagles the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Eagles has come to flipping the script.

Deer Park got a massive performance out of Sammy Fausti, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Fausti a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kapri Bailey, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Deer Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .525. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Valley only posted an OBP of .348.

Deer Park pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for West Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Deer Park beat the Eagles by a score of 12-2 later that day.
