Baseball Recap: Peak to Peak Has No Trouble Against the Academy

Peak to Peak lost a heartbreaker the last time they played The Academy, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Pumas were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Wildcats on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Pumas: when they faced off against the Wildcats on Tuesday, they had to take a 5-3 loss.

Cooper Campbell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Dane Hirt was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Peak to Peak's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). Owen Branscum was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Peak to Peak was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as The Academy only posted a batting average of .208.

Peak to Peak now has a winning record of 5-4. As for The Academy, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Peak to Peak wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 10-9 loss against Colorado Academy on the 12th. As for The Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-7 win against Kent Denver on the 12th.
