Basketball Recap: Knoxville Catholic's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Knoxville Catholic won the last time they faced Girls Prep, and Maggie Frana did her part to make sure it happened again. The Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish snuck past the Girls Prep Bruisers with a 41-37 win on Tuesday thanks in part to Frana, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Tinsley Walker, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in December of 2024.

The victory made it two in a row for Knoxville Catholic and bumps their season record up to 14-12. As for Girls Prep, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Knoxville Catholic and Girls Prep could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Knoxville Catholic will face off against Webb at 6:00 p.m. on Friday down 52 places (54 vs. 2). Similarly, Girls Prep (ranked 262nd) will meet Chattanooga Christian (ranked 45th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
