Basketball Recap: Jameer Phelmetta's Big Game Can't Quite Lead East Chapel Hill over Durham Academy

East Chapel Hill lost against Durham Academy back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Wildcats received a blow as they fell 68-53 to the Cavaliers.

East Chapel Hill lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jameer Phelmetta, who posted 27 points. William Hardin was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds.

Josh Dorsette had an outrageously good game for Durham Academy as he shot 69% from the field to rack up 26 points. Those 26 points gave Dorsette a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Bullock, who had 13 points.

East Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Durham Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

East Chapel Hill has already played their next matchup (against Carrboro), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Durham Academy, they have also already played their next game, an 80-52 loss against Jordan on the 20th.
