Baseball Recap: Jurupa Hills Beats Rim of the World for Their Fifth Straight Win

Jurupa Hills waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victor by a 21-2 margin over the Rim of the World Fighting Scots. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.

Casey Ard and Jayden Wright made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Ard didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Wright tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave Ard a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Ard scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Wright scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Ard is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Jurupa Hills got a massive performance out of Aaden Lopez, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with four runs, four RBI, and one double. With that strong performance, Lopez is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game. Matthew Toscano was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Jurupa Hills hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

Jurupa Hills' victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Rim of the World, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jurupa Hills will challenge Eisenhower at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Rim of the World, they will take on Banning at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
