Baseball Game Preview: Klein Bearkats vs. Tomball Memorial Wildcats

For the second straight game, Klein will face off against Tomball Memorial. The Bearkats will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Klein has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 14.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Klein and Tomball Memorial, and Tomball Memorial kept the tradition alive. The Bearkats fell 8-3 to the Wildcats on Tuesday.

For Tomball Memorial's part, Mason Flores looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Flores has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 11-13-1 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cole Peterson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Aguilar, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Tomball Memorial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Tomball Memorial moved to 15-15-1 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak. As for Klein, they now have a losing record of 11-12-1.
