Football Recap: Lithonia Takes Down Griffin in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lithonia had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 27-8 win over the Griffin Bears. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Xavier Butler produced another solid performance rushing for 171 yards and three scores while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Albert Gooding, who rushed for 119 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lithonia was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 307 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Another reason for the win was Lithonia's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Josias Dore was especially locked on to Griffin's QB and sacked him twice. Another thorn in the Bears' side was Braylon Jackson, who picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Lithonia's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Griffin, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Lithonia will face off against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Griffin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
