Softball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

Elgin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Larkin Royals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Maroons of the 15-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Grace Tetrev made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Abigail Mutolo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Larkin, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Elgin is set to face off against their familiar foe Fenton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Larkin will square off against rival West Chicago at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
