Preview: Winston County vs. Aliceville
Aliceville have been homebodies their last two matches, but they are heading out on Friday. They take on Winston County at 7:00 PM. Aliceville are coming into the contest hot, having won four in a row.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Aliceville ultimately got the result it was hoping for last Friday. They took their game against Pickens County 14-6. Junior Zavien Wilkins, who rushed for 73 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Aliceville's success. Wilkins has been a consistent playmaker for Aliceville as this was the 4th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Winston County have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Sulligent with a 40-35 win. The high-flying offensive effort was a definite turnaround from Winston County's flat performance the matchup before.
Their wins bumped Aliceville to 4-1 and Winston County to 2-3. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Aliceville and Winston County clash.
