Volleyball Recap: Carmel Christian Find Success + How To Watch

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cannon, Carmel Christian was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors by a score of 3-1. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 3-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Carmel Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-19, 25-23, 25-18.

Carmel Christian can attribute much of their success to Megan Brown, who had 13 digs and three assists.

Carmel Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Metrolina Christian Academy only served nine aces.

Metrolina Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Lauren Ratzlaff, who had 16 digs and four assists, and Kinsley Overcash, who had 13 assists and ten digs.

Carmel Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carmel Christian will host Gaston Day at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Hickory Grove Christian at 6:00 p.m. This will be the Warriors' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
