Volleyball Recap: Archbold Comes Up Short + How To Watch

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Archbold and Ayersville, and Ayersville kept the tradition alive. The Blue Streaks fell just short of the Pilots by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Blue Streaks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pilots apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Archbold actually scored more points across those five sets (112-107), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-19, 19-25, 33-31, 15-25, 15-12.

Molly Harris paced Archbold's offense, picking up 14 kills. Harris got some help from Karly Kruse and her 45 assists. Lexi Ripke controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ayersville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Makayla Sierra, who had 13 digs and two aces.

Archbold's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Ayersville, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Archbold wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Hilltop on the 23rd. Ayersville has also already played their next game (against Evergreen), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
