Softball Recap: Hazen Drops Season-High Score on Bellevue

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hazen). Everything went their way against the Bellevue Wolverines on Wednesday as they made off with a 30-20 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Highlanders as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Morgan Leick, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

Hazen picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-14. As for Bellevue, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-17.

Looking ahead, Hazen will face off against Sammamish at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The RedHawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.05 runs per game on average), something the Highlanders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bellevue, they will take on Mount Si at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Wolverines surely won't give up without a fight.
