Basketball Recap: Troy Skates Past Mclouth with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Troy). They claimed a resounding 82-31 victory over the McLouth Bulldogs. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 321st), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Troy was led to victory by Henry Geiger and Gannon Bowe. Geiger went 9 of 14 on his way to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals, while Bowe went 12 for 18 en route to 24 points. Jack Hartman was another key player, putting up 11 points and seven boards.

The win was the third in a row for Troy, bringing their record for this year to 6-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for McLouth, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Coincidentally, Troy and McLouth will both be playing Jefferson County North the next time they take the court. McLouth will host Jefferson County North on Wednesday, while Troy will head out to face them on January 30th.
