The Park City Miners will take on the Mountain Crest Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Park City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Park City made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Salem Hills, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went Park City's way against Salem Hills on Saturday as Park City made off with a 9-2 victory. The Miners not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Justin Michaelis, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and one double. He also put up a run, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Joey Breza, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Park City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salem Hills only posted a batting average of .056.
Meanwhile, Mountain Crest didn't have quite enough to beat Provo on Monday and fell 2-1.
Mountain Crest also got a good showing from Rylin Needham, who struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, Mountain Crest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jace Jorgensen, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Park City now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mountain Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
